When we found baby Maya on the street, her tiny body was struggling to survive. Her eyes were ruptured and could not be saved, leaving her completely blind and in constant discomfort. The only way to save her life is a double enucleation surgery (removing both damaged eyes). At the clinic, Maya’s condition was stabilized, and she was finally ready for this life-changing surgery. The operation was a success. Her painful eyes are gone, and with them, the chance of future infections or ruptures. But the journey isn’t over yet. Maya is now in recovery, receiving round-the-clock care to help her heal. She’s a tiny fighter, but her body needs time and support to fully recover. My name is Frank, and I live in Uganda..For as long as i can remember, I’ve had a deep love for animals especially dogs. Growing up, I saw far too many of them suffering on the streets: malnourished, sick, abused, or abandoned. What broke my heart most was seeing puppies huddled in ditches or under scrap metal during the rainy season, cold and scared, with no one to care for them. One day, I found a mother dog trying to keep her puppies warm in a flooded drain. I couldn’t walk away. I took them home,gave them food, and made them a small shelter from leftover wood and tarps. That was the beginning of my rescue journey..Since then, I’ve been doing all I can using my own limited resources to rescue and care for abandoned dogs. I feed them, treat wounds when I can, and try to find them safe homes. But the need has grown beyond what I can handle alone. That’s why I’m raising funds now. I need your support to: Buy dog food and clean water to feed the growing number of rescues. Afford medication and basic veterinary care, many dogs i do rescue come with injuries or infections. Purchase a bicycle so I can travel the 18 kilometers to our shelter more efficiently. Build better shelter structures to protect the dogs from heavy rain and heat. Register my NGO with the government so I can reach more animals and partner with other animal welfare groups. Every little contribution makes a big difference.
