Campaign for Homosexuality Equality in Africa

The organization played a crucial role in the campaign leading to the Sexual Offences Act 1967, which decriminalized gay sex in those regions. Following the 1967 act, CHE expanded its focus beyond legal reform to include broader social equality and community support.
The organization changed its name to the Campaign for Homosexual Equality in 1971.
CHE established numerous local groups across the country, becoming a large and influential LGBTQ+ organization.
